So who is ready for some mac n’ cheese? You can always make your own, or you can buy some pre-packaged one that has enough salt to mummify a human. Either way there is the option of Lean Cuisine’s Macaroni and Cheese. The meal usually retails for between $2 and $4. It is a 10oz serving which packs on 290 calories and has 7g of fat as well as 26% (630mg) worth of sodium and only 1g of fiber.
Taste wise, the macaroni and cheese is not the best tasting and it sure does not win any contests. This is one of those products that you wonder why the heck did I purchase it? The thing tastes like an alien version of macaroni and cheese and the cheese is anything but appetizing, in fact it would resemble something that you would concoct in a lab experiment.
In terms of health, this will not win any marks there as well. If you want the real deal, head out to a restaurant or better yet make it yourself.
Seems like a great source of fiber.
ReplyDeleteMost people who complain about the taste of the Lean Cuisine Mac and Cheese claim to prefer the boxed Kraft powdery pseudo-food, or Stouffer's, which is so salty and fatty that I can't take more than two bites without wanting to wretch and plan out a stroke. For low-fat mac and cheese, which seems to be an oxymoron, this meal is actually pretty darn good.
